Warning: SPOILERS For And Just Like That... Season 3, Episode 1, "Outlook Good"

Sarah Jessica Parker’s Sex and the City revival is back for another season, and the season 3 premiere of end of And Just Like That… season 2, after rekindling their romance, Aidan (John Corbett) and Carrie decided to take a five-year break after Aidan encountered issues with his teenage son.

In And Just Like That… season 3's premiere, while Carrie is content with sending blank postcards back and forth from Virginia, she gets a call from Aidan. Shaw tells Carrie that he “aches” for her, but the moment quickly becomes Carrie’s first long-distance rough patch, as she has to “fake” phone sex. When Carrie returns the call, Aidan is in bed with his son, Wyatt (Logan Souza). The missed moment in And Just Like That… season 3's premiere ending feels ominous for Carrie and Aidan.

Why Carrie & Aidan’s Long-Distance Relationship Isn’t Working

Carrie And Aidan Unrealistically Agreed Not To Communicate

It’s clear in And Just Like That… season 3’s premiere that Carrie and Aidan’s long-distance relationship isn’t working, which isn’t all that surprising. It seemed unrealistic for Aidan to ask Carrie to wait five years for him, until Wyatt was 20, to begin their relationship. In the season 3 premiere, we learn that Aidan asked for no communication, which he seemed to imply in season 2’s finale, telling Carrie that she would be all he thought about if they didn’t temporarily separate.

Sex and the City was always about Carrie’s complicated dating in New York, and Bradshaw’s road bump with Aidan gives the story meat again.

Still, Aidan is the one to break his contract in And Just Like That… season 3, saying that he threw the rule out the window after three beers. While the outlook on Carrie and Aidan’s relationship seems a bit bleak at the moment, it could be the best thing for the reboot’s third season. Sex and the City was always about Carrie’s complicated dating in New York, and Bradshaw’s road bump with Aidan gives the story meat again.

Why Seema Breaks Up With Ravi

Ravi Didn't Seema's Test

We will see even more single girl dating drama after Seema (Sarita Choudhury) breaks up with her movie producer boyfriend, Ravi (Armin Amiri), at the end of And Just Like That… season 3, episode 1. In And Just Like That... season 2’s finale, Ravi has to take a five-month excursion to Egypt to film his next project. Despite wanting to call it off, Seema agrees to wait nearly half a year for Ravi to return (which seems like nothing compared to Carrie’s five years, which they discuss on the beach in Greece).

Sex And The City: Carrie Bradshaw's 10 Best Flings That Only Last 1 Episode

Some of Carrie Bradshaw's best flings in Sex and the City only last a single episode, but the affairs are no less memorable than her tested romances.

However, back in New York, Seema grows frustrated by constantly speaking to Ravi’s assistant, Artold (Mihir Kumar), instead of her boyfriend. She gives Ravi an ultimatum: come to New York, or else it’s over. While Ravi shows up charmingly, bringing a beautiful bouquet and promising her lunch at Jean-Georges, Seema dumps Ravi on a ramshackle pier after spending the day with his production crew scouting filming locations, and the whole moment has satisfying cinematic flair.

Miranda’s Rosie O’Donnell Dating Story Explained

Miranda Memorably Gets Back In The Dating Pool

Meanwhile, Miranda is back in the dating pool after reconciling with her exes in And Just Like That… season 2. The last time we checked in on Hobbs, she was making peace with her first queer partner, Che (Sara Ramirez), and her ex-husband, Steve (David Eigenberg). In season 3’s premiere, Miranda takes Carrie and Charlotte (Kristin Davis) to a “lady bar,” where she finds herself alone with Mary, played by Rosie O’Donnell, who is, unbeknownst to Miranda, a virgin and a nun.

Rosie O'Donnell’s rendition of “For Good” from Wicked to fit the moment was a highlight.

Despite Miranda having a lovely morning with Mary after going back to her hotel room, Hobbs decides to put the brakes on when she finds out the truth about Mary. Still, despite not taking Mary up on her attempt to meet her at New York tourist traps like Central Park and Tavern on the Green, Miranda is comionate toward Mary in a frenzied moment in Times Square, and Rosie O'Donnell’s rendition of “For Good” from Wicked to fit the moment was a highlight.

What's Next For Charlotte & Lisa?

The Mothers Have A Lot On Their Plates

While Carrie, Seema, and Miranda navigate dating life, things look a bit different for Charlotte and Lisa Todd Wexley (Nicole Ari Parker), the And Just Like That… cast’s two happily married mothers. In season 3, Lisa navigates pre-production for her PBS documentary series. However, as Lisa reaches a critical ime in creative discussions, she receives a call from her husband, Herbert (Christopher Jackson), seeking reassurance that he’s “cool,” amid his campaign for city comptroller.

Why Sara Ramirez's Che Diaz Isn't Returning For And Just Like That Season 3

Che Diaz has been a very divisive character on And Just Like That, but the fact they are not returning in season 3 is strange given their importance.

Charlotte is entangled in more trivial matters in episode 1, caught up in an outrageous B-plot about a local woman mistaking her dog for a more vicious one and demanding York Goldenblatt pay her pooch’s MRI bill. Charlotte felt pulled between her family and her career in season 2. We can expect both women to reclaim some agency in And Just Like That… season 3, which is already evident in Charlotte’s prioritization of Richard Burton’s needs over those of her daughter, Lilly (Cathy Ang).

What To Expect From And Just Like That Season 3, Episode 2

There Will Be Sex In The City

We have an idea of what’s coming in episode 2, thanks to And Just Like That… season 3’s trailer. Despite their agreement, Aidan will eventually show up at his and Carrie’s New York house, making jokes about taking over her closet. Aidan and Carrie aren’t going to give up on their relationship that quickly, but season 3 also teases that Carrie will have a connection with her neighbor, potentially tempting her to reenter the dating pool for something more promising, and we will likely meet Carrie’s new beau soon.

It’s also worth watching Anthony and Giuseppe’s romance, with And Just Like That… season 3’s trailer teasing their relationship getting serious, with Marentino calling his partner’s mom his “future mother-in-law.” Another big tease about what to expect comes at the very end of And Just Like That… season 3's premiere, with Carrie finally opening up her laptop and writing in third person. In episode 2, we can expect an update on Carrie’s budding fiction writing, with Carrie’s Magic 8 Ball telling her “Outlook Good.”
