Artist Marcelo Millicay–known for his work on Lost Dominion and Legacies of the DCAU–took to X and Instagram to celebrate the official release of Jason Aaron and Rafa Sandoval’s Absolute Superman #1 with his own stunning rendition of the Justice League’s Trinity, showcasing their newly debuted Absolute Universe redesigns.

Batman, Superman, & Wonder Woman Debut as the “Absolute Justice League” in DCAU-Inspired Fanart

Millicay’s artwork showcases Wonder Woman front and center, flanked by Superman and Batman, with all three sporting their distinctive Absolute Universe redesigns that set them apart from their Earth-Prime counterparts. Superman features longer, wilder hair, paired with an updated suit that includes lava-infused details accentuating his hips and wrists. His new “S” Shield is bolder and thicker, with sharp points that stand in stark contrast to the Earth-Prime logo. Wonder Woman, meanwhile, shows off her Absolute redesign, wearing red, black, and silver armor, an oxblood-red tattoo arm sleeve, and wielding a massive longsword.

In addition, Millicay’s depiction of Batman is just as striking, with the Dark Knight towering over both Wonder Woman and Superman, a signature element of his Absolute Universe design. His longer bat ears, studded shoulder pauldrons, and oversized, brick-like bat logo on his chest further distinguish this version of Batman. What makes the piece even more remarkable is Millicay’s reimagining of these Absolute redesigns in the DCAU art style, which is known for its minimalist, streamlined design, bold colors, and strong contrasts that are influenced by Art Deco and film noir.
