Amanda Halterman is known for being hot-headed, and her recent social media exchange is just the latest example. The unscripted show centers around the weight-loss journeys of Amy Slaton and Tammy Slaton, but several of their other siblings have gone on their own journeys, including 44-year-old Amanda. All the Slatons are known to be loud and opinionated, but Amanda often takes the cake. Never one to back down from a fight, Amanda has found herself in plenty of battles with her siblings. She's also been known to fight on social media.

Amanda didn't appear in the first few seasons of the unscripted show because she was going through a divorce from Jason Halterman at the time. The mother of four had been unhappy in her marriage for a long time, but she decided to wait until her sons were all adults before ending her marriage. Once she appeared on the show, she became an instant fan favorite. By the time 1000-lb Sisters season 7 premiered in 2025, Amanda had earned more screen than in past seasons. Amanda's fighting spirit is definitely one of the reasons she's so entertaining.

New Love & New Life

Amanda's been going through a lot of changes over the last few years, which could make the 1000-lb Sisters star feel even more edgy than usual. Some of it has been good change. In January, Amanda posted a TikTok announcing her relationship with her new man. The post is a photo of Amanda and her new boyfriend, Leonard E Moore. "Three months and a lifetime to go," reads Amanda's caption. Since announcing her new relationship, Amanda and Leonard have been enjoying their new life together. He often appears in Amanda's social media posts.

New love isn't the only good news in Amanda's life. The 1000-lb Sisters season 7 star recently became a grandmother for the first time. Her first grandchild, Carter Lee Wayne Halterman, was born on May 7. Amanda proudly posted an adorable photo of her first grandchild to Instagram. "Carter Lee Wayne Halterman. 5-7-25 6lbs 15 ounces," reads Amanda's caption. "Lolly didn’t get to spend a lot of time with Carter but I already know he has me wrapped around his little finger." "Lolly" is Amanda's name for grandma.

"For now we wait for a diagnosis and treatment plan."

In addition to all the good things in Amanda's life, she's had her share of trouble. In February, Amanda was itted to the hospital. "I am finally home after a three-stay I the hospital," Amanda's caption read. "For now we wait for a diagnosis and treatment plan." Amanda Clapped Back At A Fan On Social Media

"Don't Come For Me Unless I Send For You"

Amanda's known to stand up for herself, and that's not limited to of her family. Amanda recently had a spicy exchange with an internet troll on Instagram. "Those nails are NASTY," read a comment on one of Amanda's past posts. "They probably have his grease all under them." Though it's unclear, this could be a comment in reference to Amanda's boyfriend, Leonard. Either way, the 1000-lb Sisters season 7 star didn't take kindly to the comment. "Don't come for me unless I send for you." The clip ends with Amanda flipping the bird at the comment.

Not The First Time Amanda Fought Someone Online

She Won't Let Anyone Mess With Her Sisters

This wasn't the first time Amanda fought an online troll. In January, Amanda posted an Instagram Q & A where she hit back at an online troll who had criticized her sister and called her a clown. At the time, Amanda was fighting with Tammy, and she wasn't in the best place with her family, but she still came to their defense. Amanda may fight with her family, but that doesn't mean the 1000-lb Sisters season 7 star will let anyone else start fights with her sisters. Amanda wants to be the only one who fights with her siblings.

Amanda's Family Feuds

"She's Dead To Me"

While Amanda isn't opposed to fighting strangers online, she reserves most of her firepower for her siblings. Being a close-knit family is great, but it also comes with downsides. During 1000-lb Sisters season 5, the Slatons went on a family vacation to Florida. When Amy refused to fly, one of Amanda's sons drove her and her children to Florida. One night, Amy got upset and decided she wanted to go back home to Kentucky right away. When Amanda refused to let her son drive back to Kentucky on short notice, the two women fought, and it even got physical.

Tammy said that Amanda was dead to her, and the two didn't speak for months.

Soon after the drama with Amy died down, Amanda and Tammy nearly came to blows during 1000-lb Sisters season 6. Tammy was living in a house owned by Amanda, and she accused her of being a bad homeowner. The two fought during a family meeting, and Tammy stormed out angrily. Tammy said that Amanda was dead to her, and the two didn't speak for months. Ultimately, Amy brought the sisters together for a family dinner and insisted they make up.

No sooner had Amanda made up with Tammy, she started having issues with Amy again. 1000-lb Sisters season 7 recently premiered, and it found Amanda living with Amy. Though the arrangement worked for the sisters for a time, Amy was growing increasingly frustrated that Amanda's adult sons were constantly around. Amy's small house appears to be hopelessly overcrowded, and it's driving her up the wall. Thankfully, Amy is planning to move soon, so Amanda can focus on fighting online trolls instead of her siblings.
