The two White House Down stars both recently appeared on the late-night talk show, with King appearing on July 8 to promote Netflix's A Family Affair and Despicable Me 4 and Tatum appearing later on July 11 to promote Fly Me to the Moon.

Though White House Down underperformed at the box office and received mixed reviews from critics, Tatum and King's performances received some praise. Since then, the two stars have continued to lead successful careers, though they have had vastly different trajectories over the years. White House Down was released in 2013 in the midst of Tatum's meteoric rise, as Magic Mike and 21 Jump Street were both released the year prior, with the sequels 22 Jump Street (2014) and Magic Mike XXL (2015) released in the following years.
