Critic scores are irrelevant these days. The audience is the one that matters, they decide whether the movie is a box office success and don't decide that based on what critics think.

I mostly agree with this article. If they're gearing up for multiple Superman movies, then the first two, at least, should have centred around establishing how powerful Superman is, making him out to be nigh on invulnerable and untouchable. Then in the 3rd movie they should have brought in the real threat and had them hurt Superman for the first time. The impact would have been much greater that way.
