See All5 Things The Wicked Movie Does Worse Than The Stage Musical
Your premise makes it sound as if the movie makers *missed* opportunities inherent in the Broadway show. Every one of your points are specious in that you can *never* have the same experience in a movie version vs. a stage play. Ultimately, IMO it's a draw: There are aspects of the stage version that are best experienced live, just as there are aspects of the movie that cannot be achieved on stage. I loved the Broadway version, but I for one much prefer the movie and look forward to Part 2. As for spoilers: the stage play has been playing for over 22 years. Most people already know a lot of the plot points. For a good part of the audience it's not about being *surprised* by the action, but in how it all has been expanded and visualized on screen, and on those points, the results are awesome. And as far as spoiler alerts for Part 2 goes, there are 2 new songs, so right there, in of how and where they fit into the well-known plot, there will be new elements that will surprise.
