The Journey Together set from the Pokémon Trading Card Game re-introduces the concept of Owner's Pokémon cards. These new cards feature numerous Pokémon that were owned by some of the most iconic characters in the franchise, such as N's Reshiram or Lillie's Clefairy. This, in turn, allows fans to get their hands on cards featuring their favorite characters.

The Journey Together set features numerous trainers from across the franchise, including N, Lillie, and Marnie. However, it will not be the only set to feature Owner's Pokémon, as characters like Arven, Misty, and Ethan were all teased for the future. There are so many iconic trainers who have never featured on an Owner's Pokémon card before, and now would be the perfect time to include them in future sets.

10 Liko

The New Anime Protagonist Gets Her Time To Shine

The iconic anime protagonist Ash Ketchum managed to get his own Owner's Pokémon cards back in 2017, so now it's only right that Liko gets her turn. As the main protagonist of the Pokémon Horizons anime, she would absolutely fit in alongside many of the franchise's other big names. Combined with the fact that she owns both her starter Floragato and the Mythical Pokémon Terapagos, there is a strong possibility that she could get her own Owner's Pokémon card one day.

The only issue with this is the fact that Liko currently only has three Pokémon, with the other two besides Terapagos not yet fully evolved. This leaves some rather big limitations as to what her Pokémon are currently capable of. It would be best to wait and see how Liko continues to grow as a trainer throughout the series, but it'll surely only be a matter of time before she gets an Owner's Pokémon card of her own.

9 Gardenia

This Grass-Type Gym Leader Is Immensely Powerful

So far, the Owner's Pokémon cards that have been revealed do not feature any Grass-types. Since Erika already featured on Owner's Pokémon cards back in the 90s, the next best choice would certainly be Gardenia from Pokémon Diamond and Pearl. Not only is she very recognizable, but she also has a wide variety of Pokémon that can help shake things up during battle.

One obvious pick for Gardenia's Pokémon cards would most certainly be her ace, Roserade, who is capable of both poisoning opponents with Poison Sting and healing itself with Mega Drain. On top of this, the PWT Tournament in Black and White 2 showed how many strong Pokémon Gardenia has at her disposal, including Breloom, Torterra, and Tropius. It is proof that, despite her relatively small team in her original game, it is still entirely possible to give her numerous fantastic Owner's Pokémon cards that would be very helpful in battle.

8 Zinnia

A Dragon-type Trainer With A Deadly Team

Zinnia is a very interesting character who was first introduced in the Delta Episode of Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire. She is an incredibly strong trainer who is more than capable of going up against the player after they've become champion.

Pokémon TCG Officially Reveals Journey Together Cards Coming In March

The Pokémon Trading Card Game has officially revealed the new set Journey Together, which brings back Trainer's Pokémon to the popular game.

As someone who primarily focuses on using Dragon-type Pokémon, Zinnia would have a very strong team at her disposal. Powerhouses like Tyrantrum, Salamence, and Noivern could all feature in Owner's Pokémon cards, potentially becoming powerful ex Pokémon that can easily overwhelm opponents. On top of this, her little Whimsur Aster could also feature in the deck as a useful Basic Pokémon card that can grow stronger over time.

7 Cheren

The Iconic Gen 5 Rival-Turned-Gym Leader

Out of all the rival characters in Generation 5, Cheren is certainly the most notable. Fans have watched him grow from being the player character's childhood friend into the gym leader of Aspertia City, proving just how capable he is as a battler.

Although most Normal-type Pokémon can be pretty underwhelming, Cheren proves just how useful they can be in a fight, especially when looking at his PWT tournament team. Besides his trusty Stoutland, which can serve as a strong heavy-hitting ex card, he also has Pokémon like Castform, Porygon-Z, and Cinccino, all of whom can have very useful moves to either attack opponents or provide for teammates. Overall, there is a lot of potential as to what a deck with Cheren Owner's Pokémon would be like, but it would most certainly allow for the players to execute some interesting and useful strategies.

6 Adaman Or Irida

Memorable Clan Leaders From Hisui

These two opposing clan leaders are two of the most notable characters in Pokémon Legends Arceus, primarily due to how they help the player throughout their journey through the Hisui region. Due to how memorable these two have become, it would be very fitting to have either one of them get their own Owner's Pokémon cards at some point in the future.

Although the options for either trainer are rather limited due to both of them using only Eeveelutions during their fights, said detail would help to make either one highly sought after chase cards. As evidenced by the Prismatic Evolutions set, people are seeking out cards with any Eeveelution they can get their hands on. On top of this, any card featuring their Eeveelutions would prove to be immensely useful in competitive play, further incentivizing people to seek them out.

5 Serena or Calem

Protagonists With Numerous Possibilities

Despite how many iconic trainers have featured in Journey Together, not a single one from Generation 6 has made an appearance. Out of the numerous characters from the Pokémon X and Y games, the protagonist duo Serena and Calem would be fantastic picks.

What's great about the protagonists getting Owner's Pokémon cards is the fact that there is a lot of potential as to which Pokémon could be chosen for them. Either one of them could have one member of the Kalos starter trio, along with various of their final team, such as Meowstic and Altaria. With so many possibilities to choose from, it is undeniable that either of these two trainers would be great picks to be included in the Pokémon TCG.

4 Hau

Another Iconic Gen 7 Rival

So far, Lillie is the only Generation 7 trainer featured in Journey Together, so it would only be fitting for Hau to get his own Owner's Pokémon cards as well. As the player's main rival in Pokémon Sun and Moon, he is an especially memorable character, both due to the challenge he poses and his fun personality. On top of also being the son of a Kahuna, this makes him incredibly good at battling, and therefore worthy of being featured in the Pokémon TCG.

2

Hau's most recognizable partner Pokémon is his Alolan Raichu, who can either deal devastating electric attacks or use its speed to act as a er or a way to quickly collect cards. On top of this, his Crabominable could be used as the primary attacker to deal heavy hits, while the rest of his Pokémon will entirely depend on what Alolan starter is chosen for him. Combined with how popular Hau is as a character, this potential is sure to make him a prime candidate for a future trainer featured on Owner's Pokémon cards.

3 Lysandre

Gen 6's Immensely Powerful Villain

There has yet to be any new villain Owner's Pokémon cards ever since Team Aqua and Magma back in 2004. Although there have been countless incredible villains in the franchise since then, a rather popular and very relevant choice would have to be Lysandre from Pokémon X and Y. With Pokémon Legends: Z-A currently on the horizon, now would be the perfect time to have many iconic Generation 6 characters get Owner's Pokémon cards, and Lysandre would be a great choice to finally add some villainy to the roster of characters.

In of which of his Pokémon could be made into cards, there are many incredibly powerful options to choose from. By far his strongest team member is his Gyarados, which has the ability to Mega Evolve, which is another mechanic that could come back in future sets. On top of this, his Mienshao, Honchkrow, and Pyroar are all incredibly strong as well, providing the opportunity for Lysandre to have many imposing ex cards to his name.

2 Wally

A Rival That Has Showcased Immense Growth

As one of the player's rivals, Wally is best known for the immense growth he experiences as a character throughout both the original Ruby and Sapphire games, along with their remakes. Although he starts out as being rather shy and cautious, he eventually becomes much more confident towards the end, as he becomes determined to prove himself before the player attempts to challenge the Elite Four.

Without a doubt, his strongest ex card would have to be his ace monster, which was originally a Gardevoir in Ruby and Sapphire, but it switched to a Gallade in the remakes, complete with a powerful Mega Stone. Regardless of which one is selected, it can prove to be an immensely powerful card that would no doubt be the star of any competitive deck. On top of this, he also has numerous other strong Pokémon like Azumarill, Garchomp, and Magnezone at his disposal, which would provide for a lot of potential variety as to what his Owner's Pokémon cards could be.

1 Red Or Blue

The Most Iconic Protagonist Duo

As two of the most iconic protagonists in the franchise, it would be fantastic if either Red or Blue got their own Owner's Pokémon cards in the future. Both of these characters have achieved their goal of becoming the champion, and have numerous incredibly powerful Pokémon at their disposal, such as Charizard, Blastoise, and Pikachu, to prove just how capable at battling they are. With how iconic this duo is, it seems only right that two of the biggest names in the entire franchise get their own Owner's Pokémon cards in the Pokémon Trading Card Game.
