Arkane Studios has confirmed that the time loop shooter Deathloopis, in fact, a sequel to the Dishonoredseries. Playing as hero Colt Vahn, the first-person shooter tasks players with hunting down and killing eight targets in a single day to break a time loop and escape the island of Blackreef. Various connections between Deathloop and Dishonored led to fan theories about the games' relationship, and now developer Arkane has shed more light on the ties that bind the two series.Across three installments and an extensive DLC campaign, Arkane Studios' Dishonored series immerses players within the Empire of the Isles from the perspectives of multiple protagonists. Tthe series' first entry takes players to the gothic city of Dunwall for a tale of violence, betrayal and political intrigue involving the Empress' fallen bodyguard Corvo Attano and her killer Daud. Dishonored 2, meanwhile, introduced players to the sunny city of Karnaca for a fight to reclaim the Empress' throne from an undead witch. Bakaba explains that Deathloop is set in the far future, following the world-changing events of Death of the Outsider. Bakaba brings up many clues linking the two franchises, like a Dunwall Tower logo on Deathloop's Heritage Gun and idle NPC conversations. Deathloop's island of Blackreef is officially meant to be located off the coast of Tyvia, a snowy island that was often mentioned throughout the Dishonored franchise but never actually visited.

Dishonored's mix of player choice, Victorian aesthetic, and stealth gameplay are twisted into a survival-horror nightmare in Gloomwood, an stealth horror FPS from New Blood Interactive. Gloomwood incorporates several elements of Dishonored's stealth gameplay and throws it into a dark city full of mystery comparable to Bloodborne's Yharnam. However, The game does more than simply borrow from its inspirations, Gloomwood takes these components to craft an entirely new experience for fans of survival horror and stealth.

Arkane Studios is seemingly working on a new game, and there is reason to believe that it could be a new entry in the beloved Dishonored franchise. The action-stealth series has been dormant for a few years now, but Arkane Studios has continued to push out other titles since the Dishonored: Death of the Outsider standalone DLC in 2017. Still, the spirit of the series appears to live on in Arkane's newer releases, and the highly anticipated Redfall seems to take some notes from Dishonored.

Corvo Attano, the protagonist of Arkane Studio's beloved Dishonored series, sneaks his way into Weird West for a humorous Easter egg. The recently-released role-playing game is developed by WolfEye Studios, a team of creators led by former Arkane Studios creative director Raphael Colantonio. While the games are very different, Screen Rant's review of Weird West suggests that WolfEye Studios' debut title captures much of Dishonored's magic and style.

Most video games feature an antagonist of some kind, either bent on world domination or just looking to get in the way of the player. Since a large portion of games are also based around action and combat, most of these villains don't get luxury of making it to the end of their games.

Video games have short life spans, as the industry advances so quickly that they're outdated after just a couple of months. Either that or a sequel that arrives 12 months later that immediately devalues the game. However, some video games have stood the test of time, and even if they feel dated, they're still so much fun to revisit.

Raphael Colantonio, director of past Arkane Studios hits such as Dishonored and Prey, has announced the release date for his title Weird West. The developer's previous projects fall under the "immersive sim" genre, being role-playing games that place an emphasis on immersion and player freedom. Developed by Wolfeye Studios and announced back in December 2019, Weird West is an action RPG which follows the stories of five different characters throughout the bizarre titular setting.

The plot and premise of Redfall - an multiplayer FPS about a squad of vampire hunters fighting in a city shrouded by a perpetual eclipse - strongly resembles the Left 4 Dead FPS franchise in many ways. This newest project of Bethesda and Arkane Studios, however, could transcend the mold of Left 4 Dead-style co-op shooters by incorporating and building on the gameplay mechanics of Dishonored, Deathloop, and other Arkane titles - specifically, open-world sandbox environments, superpowers with creative applications, and the freedom to complete game objectives in varied, creative ways.
