I've been increasingly drawn to co-op games in the past 10 years or so. For one, companies are making more of them. I also find myself gravitating toward games that allow players to work as a team, often with asynchronous abilities, all with a common end goal. It's a rush that a lot of other experiences can't offer, and that includes the newest game in the RavensburgerHorrified line, Horrified: Dungeons & Dragons.

I've been playing FromSoftware games since the '90s, and I'm astounded at how much they can keep surprising me. After wandering through the sandboxes of the King's Field series, I hopped into high-octane mech combat with Armored Core, open-ended esoteric exploration with Eternal Ring, and eventually, the quiet brilliance of Demon's Souls. From there, the studio has further cemented its legacy with Dark Souls and beyond, which eventually led us to another oddity: Elden Ring Nightreign.

Disney Lorcana: Reign Of Jafar is the newest set to arrive in the trading card game. As usual, Lorcana maker Ravensburger is offering up various accessories, pre-made decks, and box sets to coincide with the release. Illumineer's Troves have become a must-have item for Disney Lorcana fans, and the one for Reign of Jafar continues the tradition of offering collectible and practical items for enriching the TCG, all while including multiple booster packs filled with new cards.

In key ways, Monster Train 2is indistinguishable from the original, but it brings more content to tangle with, giving this no-less-than-essential sequel a victory lap quality. But who can complain? The first Monster Train game launched in 2020, and it gave Slay the Spire some worthy competition. Developer Shiny Shoe didn't require an Early Access period, extending a respectful challenge to Slay’s utter dominion over the deckbuilding roguelite space. Since then, it's garnered a strong fanbase, a new publisher in Big Fan Games (under Devolver Digital), and over one million sales with its thoughtful elaboration on card-based combat.

Disney Lorcana: Reign of Jafar is the newest set from Ravenburger's popular trading card game. As the name implies, there's a focus on Aladdin's classic villain here. However, the two new Starter Decks for Lorcana feature star glimmers from other Disney IPs and contain plenty of cards outside of Aladdin. This time around, there's an Amber/Amethyst deck and a Ruby/Steel deck. Each offers something a little unique, but both have an attention to detail regarding speed and a focus on winning quickly.

Pirate games feel like a perfect formula for success, but beyond Sid Meier, virtually everyone has struggled to nail the recipe. While seafaring, battling, and searching for buried treasure are all great adventure ingredients, they can also just be too much to juggle. Chantey, a piratical journey from indie developer Gortyn Code and publisher ModRetro, makes things even harder for itself by throwing rhythm into the mix.

Destined Rivals is the latest set for the Pokémon Trading Card Game, continuing Journey Together's trend of featuring cards that belong to trainers and characters from the video games. However, the newest set puts a large focus on Team Rocket, the iconic villains from Gen 1 that have remained persistent antagonists in Pokémon media. That not only means characters like Giovanni get to shine, but also Pokémon associated with Team Rocket - like Mewtwo, Wobbuffet, and Persian - receive some standout cards.

Team Rocket invades the Pokémon TCGwith the release of Destined Rivals, although the new set may not have the strength to impact the game significantly. Set for release at the end of May, Destined Rivals is the much-awaited second Scarlet & Violet card expansion featuring Trainer's Pokémon cards. While the set features popular trainers like Cynthia from Pokémon Diamond and Pearl and Ethan from Pokémon Gold and Silver, Destined Rivals is probably best known for reintroducing Team Rocket's Pokémon to the game.

Kulebra and the Souls of Limbo, Galla Games' debut indie game, is awash with ive beauty and general intrigue. The puzzle adventure game was created by just three people: two brothers developed it, and a composer scored it. Despite these constraints, it presents a vibrant, Latin American-influenced version of Limbo, a stage of the afterlife where the souls of those who can't move on gather.
